Review the shared cleaning preset

Common rooms only

Choosing Shared flat selects the kitchen (7 tasks), bathroom (6), toilet (3), living room (5) and hallway (3): 24 task lines. Bedrooms are left out on purpose, so the shared plan covers the spaces everyone uses and does not suggest that anyone is responsible for someone else's room.

Sharing the plan works through iCloud: the Invite button in the Household tab sends a link, and everyone who joins sees the same plan. There is no account, and sharing is not behind a separate fee.

100 occurrences in the shared month

From 26 October 2026, the 24 tasks produce 100 occurrences in 28 days. Sixteen days have four tasks and twelve days have three. The shared flat has fewer task lines than the apartment preset but more occurrences, because the toilet clean every three days adds more repeats than the bedroom's weekly and two-weekly tasks.

The kitchen sink, trash and dishwasher and the toilet clean are the four three-day tasks; they account for 37 of the 100 occurrences.

Share the work

• Add every flatmate on the Who lives here? screen or in the Household tab, up to six people.
• Turn on Take turns: the tasks are spread so each member's weekly load is as even as possible, and each time a task is done it passes to the next person.
• On each phone, choose Which one is you? so the tasks ticked on that phone are counted for the right person in Fair split and Recently done.
• If one flatmate has Pro, it covers everyone who joins the shared home, so every finished task gets its next date on all phones.

Points to agree on

The app balances task counts, not effort. A flatmate who gets the oven and the fridge may feel the split differently from the count; agree on swaps and use Move to another day where needed.

If two people change the same task at the same moment, the most recent change to that task is kept when the phones sync. Completions themselves are merged, so nobody's ticked task disappears.
