Kitchen cleaning checklist
Kleara's kitchen template has seven tasks, from a sink scrub every three days to a quarterly oven clean. See how they land in four weeks and how to adjust them.
Seven kitchen jobs on four different rhythms
Adding the kitchen in Kleara gives you seven separate tasks rather than one vague "clean the kitchen" line: scrub the sink, take out the trash and run the dishwasher every three days, mop the floor weekly, clean the fridge and descale the kettle monthly, and clean the oven every three months. Because each job is its own line, a skipped oven clean stays visible without making the sink or the floor look unfinished.
The kitchen is the busiest room in the template bank. Three of its tasks repeat every three days, which is why a kitchen on its own already produces 35 dated occurrences in a 28-day example, more than any other single room.
How the example month is laid out
In the example that starts on 26 October 2026, the planner places frequent tasks first. The sink starts on 26 October, the trash on 27 October and the dishwasher on 28 October, so the three every-three-days jobs never share a day. The weekly mop takes 26 October and repeats on 2, 9 and 16 November. The fridge (27 October), the kettle (28 October) and the oven (29 October) each appear once.
That arrangement keeps every day at one or two tasks. The days with two are 26 to 29 October and the three later mopping days, where the weekly floor job meets one of the short-cycle jobs.
Adjust the kitchen in the app
- Open the Plan tab and change the frequency of one kitchen task, for example the dishwasher if you run it daily or only twice a week; the change applies to the kitchen line only.
- Use Add task in the kitchen for jobs the template does not include, such as wiping the hob, with your own name and frequency.
- Delete the dishwasher task if you have no dishwasher instead of ticking it off for nothing.
- On the Today tab, use Snooze a day or Move to another day when a monthly job collides with a busy evening.
- Remember that a finished task counts its next date from the day you tick it, so an oven clean done a week late moves the next one a week later too.
Where kitchen plans usually go wrong
The bathroom also has a sink task, on a weekly rhythm. The two are independent lines, so changing one does not change the other. If your home has only one sink, keep only the line that matches the room where it is.
A completed mop does not mean the sink was scrubbed, and a daily total of two does not tell you how long the evening will take: the oven and a quick trash run each count as one task.
