Clean the washing machine: a practical task plan
Kleara plans washing-machine care in the bathroom every three months and in the laundry room monthly. See the two example dates and how to keep one line per machine.
Two templates, one appliance
Clean the washing machine appears in the bathroom template, every three months, and in the laundry-room template, monthly. The house preset includes both rooms, so a house plan starts with two lines for what may be a single machine.
The app has no appliance list and does not detect that two lines describe the same machine. Choosing one owner is up to you.
Two dates, far apart
In the example that schedules only these two lines from 26 October 2026, the laundry-room line is placed on 31 October and the bathroom line on 7 November. Neither returns within the 28 days: the laundry-room line next falls on 30 November, a month later, and the bathroom line on 7 February 2027, three months later.
Seeing only two occurrences is expected. Monthly and three-monthly tasks appear once in a four-week window, and their later dates are shown in the Plan tab.
Keep one line per machine
- Find where the machine stands and keep the line in that room; delete the other one in the Plan tab.
- Pick the rhythm that matches the machine's own instructions. If the manual suggests a maintenance cycle every few months, set the line to Every 3 months; if monthly suits you, keep the laundry-room default.
- If you have two machines, for example one in the flat and one in a shared laundry, keep both lines and rename one with a custom task so it is clear which is which.
- A machine clean done late moves the next date: the next one is counted from the day you tick it.
What the reminder does not decide
The reminder does not choose a programme, a temperature or a cleaning product. Those come from the appliance manual.
Monthly dates follow calendar months. A machine cleaned on 31 January comes back on 28 February in a common year, and from then on on the 28th, because the model does not remember that you started on the 31st.
