Wipe door handles: a practical task plan
Wipe door handles is a weekly task in Kleara's toilet and hallway templates. See the eight example dates and how to decide which handles each line covers.
Where the handle task lives
Kleara includes wipe door handles in two rooms: the toilet and the hallway, both on a weekly rhythm. No other template contains it, so kitchen cupboards, the fridge door or the bathroom door are not covered unless you add them.
Each line is most useful when it names a small group you can actually finish, for example the toilet door inside and out, or the front door and the doors that open onto the hallway.
Eight handle dates in four weeks
In the example that schedules only these two lines from 26 October 2026, the toilet handles come first on 28 October and the hallway handles on 31 October. Both repeat every seven days, so the toilet line falls on 28 October, 4, 11 and 18 November and the hallway line on 31 October, 7, 14 and 21 November.
That is eight occurrences in four weeks, one per day at most. In a full house plan the two lines sit among many other tasks, and the planner places them where the daily count is lowest.
Set it up
- If your home has no separate toilet room, the toilet line is not in your plan; decide whether the hallway line should cover the toilet door as well.
- If you want handles elsewhere, add a custom task in the right room with Add task, for example kitchen cupboard handles every two weeks.
- Change the frequency in the Plan tab if weekly is more or less than your household wants; the next date follows from the day you finish the task.
- Turn on Take turns in the Household tab if this is one of the small jobs you want to pass around.
What the handle task leaves open
The task date is a reminder, not a contact time for any product. If you use a disinfectant, its own directions decide how it is applied and how long it stays on the surface.
Finishing the hallway handles does not tick off the toilet handles, even though the task name is the same; check that you are ticking the line for the room you actually cleaned.
Moving one of the two lines to another day changes only that line. If you prefer to do both on the same evening, move one and the weekly rhythm then continues from the day you finish it.
