Mop the floor: a practical task plan
Mop the floor is in six Kleara rooms with three defaults: weekly, every two weeks and monthly. See the example dates and how to keep one floor from being planned twice.
The most widely used task
Mop the floor appears in more room templates than any other task: weekly in the kitchen, bathroom and toilet, every two weeks in the hallway, and monthly on the balcony and in the laundry room. Each room has its own line, date and frequency.
That spread reflects how differently floors are used. A kitchen floor and a laundry-room floor share a task name in the app, but they are planned as two separate jobs.
The example for all six rooms
In the example that schedules only the mopping lines from 26 October 2026, the kitchen comes first on 26 October, the bathroom on 27 October and the toilet on 30 October. The hallway starts on 1 November and returns on 15 November. The balcony is placed on 10 November and the laundry room on 22 November.
The six lines produce 16 occurrences in 28 days. Only one day has two: 10 November, when the weekly bathroom floor meets the monthly balcony floor. If you mop the bathroom and toilet together, that pairing is one you can create yourself by moving a date.
Adjust the floors you actually have
- In a combined bathroom and toilet, keep one floor line and delete the other in the Plan tab; selecting both rooms otherwise plans the same floor twice a week.
- Change the hallway to Weekly if it collects outdoor dirt, without changing the other rooms.
- Use Move to another day to line up mopping with vacuuming in rooms where you do both on the same visit.
- If you clean all floors in one session, consider keeping one custom task such as mop all floors and deleting the room lines.
What the count does and does not say
Sixteen mopping occurrences in four weeks is a count of reminders, not of square metres or minutes. The kitchen and bathroom lines make up most of it.
The plan does not choose a product or method for the floor. Floor finishes differ, and the right method comes from the floor or product instructions, not from the date in the plan.
