Water the plants: a practical task plan

Water the plants is weekly in Kleara's living room and balcony and every three days in the garden. See the example dates and why the reminder is not a watering schedule.

Three plant lines with different defaults

Kleara has water the plants in three templates: the living room and the balcony start weekly, the garden every three days. The lines are independent, so a garden reminder does not cover the plants on the windowsill.

The task knows nothing about plant species, pot size, light or weather. It reminds you to look; the plants themselves tell you whether they need water.

How the example lines up

In the example that schedules only the three plant lines from 26 October 2026, the balcony and the garden both start on 26 October and the living room on 31 October. The garden then repeats every three days, the balcony and living room every seven.

That gives 18 occurrences in 28 days, ten of them in the garden. Two lines meet on three days: 26 October (balcony and garden), 7 November (garden and living room) and 16 November (garden and balcony).

Turn the reminder into a useful routine

Plant-reminder mistakes

Treating the default as advice: weekly or every three days are starting values chosen by the app, not care instructions for any particular plant.

Ticking off the reminder without checking the soil. The plan records that the task was done; it cannot tell whether a plant was too dry or already wet.

Keeping three plant lines when all your plants are in one place. If they are all indoors, the living-room line may be enough.
