Vacuum: a practical task plan
Vacuum appears in six Kleara rooms: weekly in four, every two weeks in the office and monthly in the basement. See the 19 example dates and how to combine the lines.
Six rooms, three rhythms
Vacuum is weekly in the bedroom, living room, hallway and kids' room, every two weeks in the office and monthly in the basement. Kitchen, bathroom and toilet floors are planned with mop the floor instead.
Each room line keeps its own date, which is useful when rooms are vacuumed on different days and awkward when you vacuum the whole home in one pass.
Nineteen vacuum dates
In the example that schedules only the six vacuum lines from 26 October 2026, the bedroom starts on 26 October, the living room on 28 October and the kids' room on 29 October. The hallway and the office both start on 1 November, and the basement on 7 November.
Over 28 days that is 19 occurrences. Two lines share a day twice: on 1 November and on 15 November, when the hallway and the office, whose two-week cycle starts on the same day, come round together.
Choose how you vacuum
- If you vacuum room by room on different days, keep the lines and adjust frequencies in the Plan tab where a room needs more or less.
- If you vacuum everything at once, add one custom task such as vacuum the whole home with Add task and delete the room lines you no longer need.
- Line up vacuuming before mopping in the hallway by moving one of the two tasks with Move to another day.
- With Take turns on, the six lines are spread across members by weekly load, so the frequent lines are not all handed to the same person.
Watch for duplicates
An office in the bedroom, or a kids' bed in the main bedroom, can put two vacuum lines on one floor. Keep the one that matches the room you will actually clean.
The basement's monthly line appears once in a four-week window and is easy to forget. Its next date is visible in the Plan tab even when the preview shows it only once.
