Living room cleaning checklist
The living-room template gives five tasks: four weekly ones plus a window clean every three months. See how they spread over four weeks and what to change first.
Five tasks, mostly weekly
Kleara's living room has four weekly jobs, vacuum, dust surfaces, declutter surfaces and water the plants, plus clean windows every three months. It is in all three home presets, so almost every plan starts with it.
The plant line is only a reminder to look at the plants. It knows nothing about the species or the soil, and the balcony and garden templates carry their own plant tasks with different defaults.
The four-week example
From 26 October 2026, the planner gives each weekly job its own weekday: vacuuming on 26 October, dusting on 27, decluttering on 28 and plants on 29 October. The window clean takes 30 October. Over the 28 days the room produces 17 occurrences, one per day at most, and the window job does not return until 30 January 2027.
The pattern keeps the living room to roughly four short visits a week. Whether that suits you depends on how the room is used, which the template cannot know.
Fit it to how you use the room
- Delete the plant task if there are no plants, or set it to a rhythm that matches what you observe; it is just another line in the Plan tab.
- If decluttering needs another person's decision, keep that task with the household and use Take turns so it does not always land on the same member.
- Change the windows from every three months to twice a year if that is closer to your routine; the bedroom's own window task is a separate line and keeps its setting.
- If the living room is also a dining area, add a custom task such as wiping the table with Add task rather than stretching the dusting line.
Common slips
Vacuuming appears in six room templates. Each room line has its own date, so the living-room vacuum can be due while the hallway one is not. If you vacuum the whole flat in one go, it can be simpler to keep one vacuum line and delete the others.
Ticking off the declutter task records that you did it; it does not mean every item found a place. Leave unresolved items for a later occurrence rather than marking the room as finished.
