PTCB medication name and class practice

Practice US brand–generic pairs and drug classes, then give difficult names a place in your daily review.

A practical study routine

Start with ten brand-to-generic questions. Before choosing an option, say the generic name aloud or write it on paper. For each miss, open the linked card and check the exact spelling; a familiar-looking name is not the same as a correct match.

Reverse the direction with generic-to-brand practice, then try the class exercise. Keep three short lists: names you confused, classes you confused and items you need to check in the full label. Review those lists before adding another batch.

What this covers

The 2026 PTCE outline includes medication names and classes. This page supports that recall task; it does not cover the whole outline, dispensing calculations or federal requirements.
