When to use this template
This template is for asking for a fee or charge on your account to be refunded because you believe it was taken in error. It names the charge and asks for the money back.
What the letter contains
- Message names the charge, placed before “charge on my account”.
- The first sentence states that you believe the charge was made in error.
- The second sentence asks for the charge to be refunded.
- It does not give the amount or the date of the charge; those would go into Message.
- No date is given in the body; Date is printed under the letter.
- Recipient is the bank or provider that took the charge, and your full name signs the request.
