When to use this template
This template is for asking a bank or other provider to close an account. It names the account and, in the same sentence, asks for any money left in it to be paid out to you.
What the letter contains
- Message names the account to be closed, placed after “Please close my”.
- The same sentence asks for any remaining balance to be paid out to you.
- It does not say how the balance should be paid or to which account.
- The body gives no closing date; Date is printed under the letter.
- Recipient is the bank, provider or institution that holds the account.
- Your full name signs the request; an ID number line can be added to match the request to the account holder.
