Ingredients
Rye whiskey60 ml (2 oz)
Fernet-Branca7.5 ml (0.3 oz)
Simple syrup7.5 ml (0.3 oz)
Angostura bitters4 dash
How to Make It
Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice.
Stir until well chilled and diluted.
Strain into a chilled coupe.
Express an orange peel over the drink and drop it in.

Robert Vermeire printed it as the Fernet Cocktail in 1922, noting it was appreciated by Canadians from Toronto; David Embury's 1948 book gave it the name Toronto.
