When to use this template
This template is for giving your landlord notice that you are ending your lease. It names the property and the date the lease ends, and asks the landlord to accept the letter as that notice.
What the letter contains
- There is no Message field; the notice is built from the address and the end date.
- Address names the rented property and is used inside the sentence after “my lease for”.
- Date is the day the notice takes effect, after “effective”; it is printed again above your name.
- The letter asks the landlord to accept it as notice and does not mention a notice period.
- It does not ask for the deposit back; that is a separate template.
- Recipient is the landlord or letting agent, and your full name signs the notice.
