Essentially a Manhattan made with cognac — brandy, sweet vermouth and bitters — loosened with a small splash of soda.

Ingredients
- Cognac60 ml (2 oz)
- Sweet red vermouth30 ml (1 oz)
- Angostura bitters2 dash
- Soda water30 ml (1 oz)
How to Make It
- Add the cognac, sweet vermouth and bitters to a mixing glass with ice.
- Stir until well chilled.
- Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
- Top with the chilled soda water.
- Express an orange peel over the drink and drop it in.
