When to use this template
This template is for asking a school to exempt a pupil from a course. It names the pupil and gives the reason for the exemption in one formal sentence.
What the letter contains
- The name typed into Full name is used as the pupil's name inside the request, and it is printed again under the letter.
- Message gives the reason for the exemption, after “due to”.
- The letter refers to “the course” without naming it, so the course is identified by the reason you give or by whom you write to.
- Recipient is the school, head teacher or course coordinator who decides on the exemption.
- Date is printed under the request as the day it was written; no start date for the exemption is named.
- An ID number is optional; when entered, it is printed under the name on its own line.
