When to use this template
This template is for asking for a make-up exam after missing one. It gives the date of the missed exam and the reason, then asks for a make-up exam.
What the letter contains
- Date is the day of the exam you missed; it is used in the first sentence and again above your name.
- Message gives the reason you could not sit the exam, after “due to”.
- The second sentence asks for a make-up exam.
- The letter does not name the subject of the exam; it can be part of the reason you give or follow from the recipient.
- Recipient is the teacher, department or exam office.
- Your full name identifies the student who missed the exam; an ID number line is optional.
