Lorazepam — Binds the benzodiazepine site of GABA-A receptors in the brain, enhancing GABA-mediated synaptic inhibition.
Diazepam — A benzodiazepine that interacts at GABA-A sites; most clinical effects are thought to result from facilitation of the inhibitory neurotransmitter GABA.
