Example calculation
Fabric cost calculator: worked out from the values already filled in the form above.
Inputs
- Measurements in: Millimetres
- Length: 2,000
- Price per output unit (optional): 10
- Waste allowance (%): 10
- Price per: m
Result
- Required: 2.2 m
- Estimated cost: 22
How the calculation works
The required length is entered in the measurement unit at the top. The price unit is selected separately as metres or yards. The calculator converts the length, adds your percentage allowance and multiplies by that unit price.
For example, 2500 mm with a 10% allowance is 2.75 m. At 12 currency units per metre, the estimate is 33. Taxes, delivery, minimum cuts and shop rounding are not added automatically.
