Choose the quantity you need to calculate
With distance in nautical miles and ground speed in knots, elapsed minutes equal distance ÷ ground speed × 60. A positive ground speed is required for a finite time. For example, 210 nautical miles at 140 knots takes 90 minutes under a constant-speed assumption.
With distance in nautical miles and elapsed time in minutes, ground speed in knots equals distance ÷ minutes × 60. A positive elapsed time is required. The result is an average over the supplied interval, not an airspeed measurement.
With ground speed in knots and elapsed time in minutes, distance in nautical miles equals ground speed × minutes ÷ 60. The model assumes that speed remains constant over that interval.
