Example calculation
Lumber cubic metre calculator: worked out from the values already filled in the form above.
Inputs
- Measurements in: Millimetres
- Waste allowance (%): 15
- Price per output unit (optional): 0
- Your measurements: Thickness 25 · Width 150 · Length 2,400 · Quantity 3
Result
- Net volume: 0.027 m3
- Required: 0.031 m3
How the calculation works
Enter all three dimensions in the selected unit. Millimetres are converted to cubic metres by dividing the multiplied dimensions by one billion. Use a separate row for each size; quantities must be whole pieces.
Example: 25 × 150 × 2400 mm is 0.009 m³ per board. Twenty boards contain 0.18 m³. A 15% allowance gives a buying estimate of 0.207 m³. Confirm how your supplier rounds an order before purchasing.
