Calculate · Horizontal angle of view (°)
A thin-lens plan using distances from the sensor plane. Real lens behaviour, focus breathing and computational photography are outside this model.
Separate angle from finite-distance framing
Choose the sensor dimensions and actual focal length. The angle-of-view outputs use rectilinear geometry at infinity, while the optional finite focus distance uses the native thin-lens magnification model to estimate scene width and height.
The crop factor compares sensor diagonals; it does not turn the entered lens into a different focal length. Use actual focal length in the calculation rather than an equivalent focal-length label.
Check the preset against your camera
Sensor presets are explicit dimensions, not a complete camera catalogue. Cropped video modes, digital stabilization, lens distortion, focus breathing and computational capture can change the recorded framing.
