Continue a cleaning schedule without restarting every task
Extending a cleaning plan should continue each task from its own dates, not restart it. Compare two 28-day windows from one kitchen and bedroom plan.
Continue, do not rebuild
Looking at the next four weeks does not have to mean making a new plan. If you keep each task's frequency and its last due date and carry them forward, the second window continues exactly where the first one stopped.
Building a fresh plan from a later start date is a different operation. The planner then chooses new start days to balance the new window, and tasks can move relative to where they were.
Two windows from one plan
The example begins on 26 October 2026. The first window runs to 22 November, the second from 23 November to 20 December. Both use the same eleven kitchen and bedroom tasks with their original due dates. The first window has 46 occurrences, the second 44, and a single 56-day expansion has 90, which is exactly the sum.
The sink appears ten times in the first window and nine in the second, the trash nine and then ten: a three-day rhythm does not divide evenly into 28 days. The oven and the bedroom windows appear in the first window and not in the second, because their next dates fall later.
Check the handover
- Keep the original due dates rather than replacing them with the new window's start date.
- The second window begins on 23 November; 22 November belongs to the first, so no occurrence should be counted in both.
- Every task and date pair should appear exactly once across the two windows; compare with a single longer expansion if in doubt.
- Review deliberate frequency changes separately, so a changed plan is not mistaken for a missing occurrence.
How the app continues a plan
The Kleara app does not work in windows. Each task simply has a next date, and finishing it sets the following one, counted from the day you tick it. There is nothing to extend or restart.
Adding a room later is the one point where the app balances again, and only for that room's new tasks; the dates of the tasks you already have stay as they are.
