Convert the same physical quantity

Select a source unit and a destination unit for the same quantity, then enter the value. A distance can be converted to another distance unit; a mass cannot be converted to a volume without an additional density assumption. Incompatible choices are rejected.

Unit symbols remain explicit beside the numbers. Check whether a source uses a US gallon, litre, pound, kilogram, nautical mile or another defined unit before transferring a result into an aircraft calculation.

Keep conversion separate from performance

Converting a number does not validate its source or turn a planning assumption into a measured value. For a fuel mass/volume comparison, use the separate density worksheet and inspect its stated density.
