Why should light observations be repeated at different times of day?

Build a dated light observation rather than assigning a plant a calibrated light level from one glance.

Repeat the observation in the same place

A window position can look different in the morning and afternoon. Record what is visible at several stated times, including any direct sun, shading and obstruction. Keep the plant location consistent or record a move as a separate event. A brief visual observation is not a calibrated light measurement.

Describe the window and approximate distance where useful, but do not turn orientation alone into a complete care recommendation. Buildings, trees and indoor obstructions can change what reaches the plant. The record should help a later plant-specific assessment understand the setting.
