Keep an unclear screenshot for deliberate review
“Violet amber squares” matches no keyword and is too short for the prose rule, so Shotnest returns Other with score 1; look at the image yourself.
How text ends up on Other
The text is 20 characters long, so it passes the 12-character minimum. None of its words is on any shelf list, it has no prices, times or code lines, and at 20 characters it is far below the 300 needed for the prose rule. With no evidence at all, the classifier returns Other with a score of 1.
In the app, a score under 3 on text of at least 12 characters is the case where Shotnest asks Apple’s on-device model for a shelf, if the phone has it. Without the model, the screenshot stays on Other until you move it.
Small changes can move such text off Other. Add three short lines with times, 12:30, 12:45 and 13:05, and the message rule applies: three or more times on mostly short lines give Messages 2 points. The suggestion is still below the threshold, which is a reminder that a few times on a screen are weak evidence of a chat.

Decide what an Other screenshot is for
- Open the screenshot; Other often holds photos of objects, colour samples or screens with little text.
- Check whether important text was cut off or not recognised.
- If it has a purpose, move it with Move to shelf or add it to a folder.
- If it has none and is older than six months, it also appears in Clean up, where any deletion goes through the iOS confirmation.

Mistakes with unclear items
- Deleting everything on Other without looking at the images.
- Assuming Other means the text recognition failed; it often means the text has no shelf cues.
- Leaving important references on Other where a search by a remembered word is the only way back.
A screenshot can also look unclear simply because its text is in a script the on-device text recognition cannot read; the app says so when a search finds nothing for such a query.
Limited evidence, not low value
Other reflects what the rules could find in the text. The classifier tool linked below does not look at the image or delete anything; that review is yours.
