Plan a twice-yearly task without a fixed-day assumption

Twice a year in Kleara means six calendar months, not 182 days. See how a start on 31 August moves to 28 February and why the gaps vary between 181 and 184 days.

Six calendar months

The frequency Twice a year steps by six calendar months. From 31 August the next date is the same day six months later, and when that month is shorter, the last valid day: 28 February in a common year.

Kleara uses an average of 182 days only for one purpose: placing the task in the first 28 days of a new plan. The real due dates are always calculated by calendar month.

From 31 August to August 2028

The example starts on 31 August 2026. The following dates are 28 February 2027, 28 August 2027, 28 February 2028 and 28 August 2028. The gaps are 181, 181, 184 and 182 days.

Two things are visible. After the first clamp to 28 February, the task stays on the 28th, even in August and even in the leap year 2028, when February has a 29th. And the gaps are never exactly 182 days, because they follow the lengths of the months in between.

Using six-month tasks well

Do not read it as a fixed interval

Describing the rhythm as every 182 days would be wrong for most of the dates shown. Kleara has no fixed 182-day option; if a strict interval matters, move the date by hand when the task comes up.

Every 3 months works the same way, in steps of three calendar months, and is subject to the same month-end clamp.
