Find repeated appliance assignments
Kitchen, bathroom and laundry room templates together create six appliance tasks, two of them for the washing machine. See the example and how to keep one per appliance.
Where appliance tasks come from
Several Kleara templates contain appliance work. The kitchen has four appliance tasks: run the dishwasher every three days, clean the fridge and descale the kettle monthly, and clean the oven every three months. The bathroom has clean the washing machine every three months, and the laundry room has the same task monthly.
The app does not keep an inventory of your appliances. When you select rooms, each room brings its own lines, and nothing checks whether two lines refer to the same machine.
The appliance-only example
The example on this page schedules only those six appliance lines from 26 October 2026. The oven takes 26 October, the bathroom washing machine 27 October, the dishwasher 28 October, the fridge 1 November, the kettle 8 November and the laundry-room washing machine 15 November. In 28 days that is 14 occurrences, nine of them for the dishwasher.
Two washing-machine lines with different rhythms are the clearest sign of a duplicate. Only one day, 15 November, has two appliance tasks: the laundry-room machine and the dishwasher.
Find and resolve duplicates
- In the Plan tab, look for the same task name in two rooms and ask whether both lines describe the same physical object.
- If they do, delete one line and keep the frequency that matches the appliance's own instructions.
- If you have two real machines, keep both lines and consider replacing one with a custom task named after its location, so it is clear which is which.
- Appliances the templates do not include, such as a dryer or a coffee machine, can be added with Add task in the right room.
Easy to overlook
The house preset includes both the bathroom and the laundry room, so a house plan starts with two washing-machine lines by default.
Deleting a duplicate is better than ticking it off: a task you tick without doing it records a completion that did not happen, and it keeps returning on its own schedule.
